Materials withdrawn from storage areas (Bins, Cabinets, Shelves) for patient use are recorded electronically by a handheld device. The information from the handheld device is transmitted to a computer which records the used items and alerts time to restock. Additionally, this information is used to keep track of the supplies used for each patient and in billing. The processes POU replaced and the benefits being realized by its use will also be discussed.
